The rest of the song is just the chorus repeated twice, but more happens in the video. The dog from the beginning of the video has started following him around, and he’s now treating it like his own. He’s shown in a wine aisle at a store, but instead of buying any alcohol or drugs, he bought a leash, two metal dog bowls, and some dog food. After this scene, though, the dog comes to comfort him. The dog has become the one who’s looking out for him, who loves and needs him.
There’s a brief montage of the man and the dog playing together, but then it shows the man finding. He’s shown returning the dog to its owners, who are the man and the little girl from the very beginning of the video. The dog owner offers the homeless man money, but he denies it and just shakes the man’s hand. He didn’t really want money, he just wanted to feel like he was accepted, appreciated, and worth something.
