My father left for the States in 2011 and kept regular contact with us. He still lives there and recently acquired his citizenship. We have a good relationship and he seems to love talking to my younger brother. He says my brother reminds him of himself. As for me, he did support me through law school and continues to encourage me to pursue my dreams and career ambitions. He also loves talking legal issues with me and our conversations can go on for hours on the phone. When he finished he started wearing his clothes and thrown mine at me . He asked me never to tell this to anyone as no one would believe me and even if they did they will laugh at me only that i am a boy who got fu** ed in ass. And moreover my parents would also be ashamed of me.
Hours would become days, days became weeks, weeks became months, and it would take almost a year until I saw my father again. Apparently, he had decided to end the relationship with my mom and was now planning to get remarried to an American woman and relocate to the U.S. I never knew all this until his visit. My mom never explained anything to me, she would usually just break down and cry and I would do my best to console her. Perhaps I was at that age where I could barely understand something as complex as divorce or separation, and was as a result, kept in the dark not knowing what to say when hit with the usual “how’s your mom and dad doing”?
