If you don’t like what I wrote, tough shit. If my answer is grammatically low-quality Chandler Dance when I dance I look like this shirt or is an un-cited opinion masquerading as fact, downvote it. If you think I’m wrong, write your own answer. But Quora is a question-and-answer site, not a debate site. If you were simply going to comment to tell me “actually, you’re wrong,” then you’re the reason why I disable comments. Well done, Karen. You ruined it for everyone. No. At least not in most of our lifetimes. Too many people out there are protesting about the “gub’mint trying to take away their freedom” when all they’re trying to do is limit the severity of another, much worse wave of the coronavirus expected to come by September. And that’ll probably happen sooner than that if the states all start relaxing social distancing rules and public mask-wearing before we’ve even seen a flattened curve, never mind a lowering of infections and deaths. Experts are saying that, rather than banking on Covid-19 “going away,” we need to have a national (not piecemeal state by state) plan for how to reopen and go about daily life again with SARS-CoV-2 among us. We had to do that with the HIV virus; sometimes things happen outside our ability to control them. Covid-19 is one of those things. With HIV, we were infiltrated by a virus that, in the beginning, if a person was infected with it and it turned into AIDS (which it usually did), it was a death sentence. Nobody recovered. There was no treatment. Nobody knew anything about it, especially in the areas of how it was transmitted and why it was so deadly. People were avoiding gay men like the plague (even when it began to be apparent that other people could catch it, too).
