It’s VERY difficult! How about you do the job of a farmer and tell me how you’d do it? Do you know how many farmers HAVE work off-farm just to keep their stock fed? And I’m not just talking about the small farmer in that one. Ya, I’m saying nobody is going to literally dump money down the drain if they have a choice. I’m in Indiana and it’s illegal. The tanks aren’t huge and cows have to be milked at least twice a day. There are no options. you obviously didn’t get the point. I’m just saying they should have a backup plan if something ever happens.
There were dairy farms surrounding our town. 2 smaller ones and 1 decent size. When the economy crashed in 07/08, the large dairy farm took a really bad hit. But before it went totally under the families that owned the other 2 came together to help keep him going. Do I know the details? No, but since our town had 329 people, it made the front page of our newspaper. All I’m saying is you can’t just rely on large corporations. Have a backup plan, take an economics course. Make sure you know what path to start down if THIS happens. I was a farmer for many years and I can tell you no farmer is going to dump his milk out unless there is something wrong with it. There are many uses for milk, it even makes great fertilizer. Why I dots post this crappie I’ll never know.
