One day she told me, “This is your last day” and handed me my check. It was about 10 in the morning. I had interviewed for another position and was going to give this company with this horrible manager two weeks’ notice. I took the check, my purse, and everything personal and left. I didn’t say I wasn’t coming back. I think they thought I was going out to lunch. I went with her. She was such a good boss – always bubbly. I still would like to meet up with her again as we became good friends.
I had moved to California from Hawaii and had been employed for a few years by larger companies and kept seeking a more challenging position. I took a job in a smaller Company as the owner told me the Office Manager was retiring soon. I realized too soon the Office Manager did not like me. There were times when we had nothing to do, so I would ask if there was anything I could help her with.nd water. I kept waiting for her to retire and then I realized she wasn’t going to.
