My brother went to the ER and was sent home 2 weeks ago with “double lung infection”. I’m a nurse. I heard his breathing on the phone and begged him to get to another hospital ASAP. He was admitted hours later. Sure enough, it was Covid19. A week later and we finally are becoming hopeful he’ll make it. Had he stayed home we would have lost him. that’s easy to say I took antibiotics and prednisone and cough syrup and all kinds of for pneumonia fought it oct. Till Jan. Still don’t feel right took a new shot. It’s better but I suffer asbestos cancer leukemia COPD asthma emphysema arthritis and lots of other chronic pain issues from working for the government removed asbestos from ships.
From The plague and Ebola to Streptococcus and Staph. Flu and COVID have something in common alright, complications leading to death. Measured against the world population, yes it seems small. Lowered immune systems and weak immune systems always take more of a hit, than healthy, but it’s not a guarantee. These deaths are not in vain, however… Look around you. Think about what this virus has shown us about ourselves and our infrastructure… About what is essential and what isn’t… About how important brick and mortar stores really are and how very limited online shopping really is.
