Of course, Grandpa is none too happy that the party was starting and an argument begins about waiting with the warning that these children have to get to bed ensued. the family huddled around the chairs and sang. Someone on the hospital staff stopped them before they lit the candles, after the singing, the cake was cut; ice cream dipped and the party started. A few presents appeared from someplace. It was the little girl’s birthday. No one outside of the family was offered cake and it looked good. My friend was called back shortly after this No break. We drove through a Dairy Queen on the way home. I really would have like a piece of that cake.
I was in an ER waiting room with a friend. He was sure he had broken his ankle. I had ice packs and was providing the appropriate amount of babying and making sure the ankle was elevated. And in walks a family. Let me rephrases that. A FAMILY – mama, daddy, sister, brother (both under twelve I would guess), Grandmama and granddaddy. And right on their heels was an ambulance with great grandmama. She was taken straight back but not before she was heard to shout, “Now don’t you all start without me.” And then entered another adult female who I will assume was an aunt. She is carrying a cooler with what is obviously a bakery box balanced on it.
