I highly doubt that this exercise in bad publicity is what they want as an outcome. No, still good food should be simply thrown away. Multiple reasons. The food may have been still edible, but not up to the standards needed for donation. Or there might not have been enough to warrant the local foodbank sending someone out to collect it. Foodbanks can’t accept perishable fresh food items…only canned or sealed long-life foodstuffs. Not true. It just depends on the country to make reasonable laws relating to wasted resources. If France can do it, so can Germany.
