I won’t say I was surprised but more amused and I thought it was cute. He seems to be quite a clumsy fellow, I noticed. The first and only time we showered together, he got soap in his eyes. I felt bad for laughing at the corner while he rushed under the shower trying to rinse off the soap. The sound he made was just so bloody adorable. He’s like a big baby. My daughter and I had been to the new theatre in our city – being new, we were still excited by all the culture we could suddenly experience, and, even better, we’d been given free tickets to either Julius Caesar or Midsummer Night’s Dream (we saw both separately, I forget after which this was!)
So, we’ve got all dressed up, watched Shakespeare and really enjoyed ourselves. Lights go up, we head out, turn on our mobile phones. Couple of missed calls and a text from husband: ‘Me and [son]don’t feel like cooking, want to grab a McDonalds on your way home?’ No problem, there’s a McDonalds right there. We go in, still chattering about the play and our favourite bits and the excellence of the actors blah, blah. Go to the counter – it’s completely empty, we’re the only people in aside from the workers so no one is overworked right now.
