Trying to get herd immunity isn’t the answer when we have almost 100k in less than 6 weeks. Which even if some deaths are not directly linked to covid19 many other deaths especially in densely populated low-income areas (which is hitting the hardest) are extremely undercounted. While many states never reached the ICU capacity certain areas have. And without the shutdown I would imagine that would change. There are counties that only have 25 ICU beds and if they suddenly have a huge community spread then there will be trouble. In Wisconsin we have hotspots that could potentially be a huge issue if all those who have tested positive need to be in the ICU. Some of the counties where meat factories are will get really high cases…and then it spreads to their family and so forth.
Someone with COVID could get a stroke DUE to the virus and then die. Also when organs do not get enough oxygen they get damaged and can fail. Just like AIDS patients don’t die from the virus themselves, they die from what the virus does to their body. U can also literally get a heart attack from a virus. There is also long term damage to survivors like needing dialysis and lung damage. We are not even close to herd immunity and we would need up to 500k deaths in the US for that to happen.Home: Ctee shirt
