First and foremost, men respond the most to appreciation. We will work ourselves to death as long as it goes noticed and I am a proud Mom-in-law of a freaking awesome Daughter-in-law shirt. Look at things from both perspectives, he is leaving you alone with the kids for 12 hours each day but he is also working for 12 hours each day AND then comes home and relieves you for mommy time. He is clearly doing what he can to help you. I’m not sure what you want him to do because there’s not much more than that, especially being your only source of income. That being said, he also needs to see the work you’re putting in and appreciate it. Times are tough right now.

You need to come up with a daily schedule and stick to it. I cannot stress that enough. They need structure and a sense of normalcy. Get outside each day, have chore time where they can help you around the house, learning time, screen time, and of course meals and a bedtime routine. You’ll have a break from each other during screen time and they’ll be tired from staying busy all day, bedtime will come early. Just keep the chocolate and sweets to yourself. When your husband gets home, use that time efficiently to recharge. Meditate, bathe, sit outside and have a drink, pray. Do not just sit on the couch and watch TV, that won’t help.
