This makes Care workers sound irresponsible – these are some of the most dedicated hard-working underpaid people out there. They put up with a lot because they really do care. I very much doubt that those who work in care would put people at risk like this, seems to be yet another stick for the BBC to bash the government with I think this highlights the systemic, decades-long neglect of the care sector and the struggles facing people trying to do their best when working in it. But most of the care sector is privately funded. In West Sussex there is not one publicly funded care home for the elderly, we had to wait for a ‘charity’ place for my mum. That’s where private homes reserve a few spaces for state-funded elderly. The cheapest place we could get for her self funded was per Week! She didn’t have a house to sell. I couldn’t have her at home as she wasn’t safe during the day. Boris and his tory government are complicit in so many ways, costing lives through delay and inaction on early testing and diagnosis. In addition to previous tory governments right back to thatcher, in systematically defunding the NHS through privatization. This is unforgivable and disgusting behavior by successive tory governments and must be remedied at the next election.
