My other dog Austin liked to hear himself bark. It’s his way of talking to me Sloth wake me up when it’s Christmas shirt. He never growls, unless Tessa starts to then he’ll join in with a silly “Hey, hey! What are we barking at? What is it?” look on his face. He’s an absolute lover but dumb as a brick. Your dog is growling because it heard something it doesn’t trust. If it is really bothering you, keep the dog out of the room, or, and this is only if you have an infinite amount of patience, you can actually train your dog to “leave it,” as in teaching them to discontinue warning you, and leaving it alone. You’ll have to look it up on the internet, and it takes a lot of time and patience, but when your dog growls or barks, he is trying to tell you something. If we’re outside the house hanging out, and Tessa starts barking, it’ll usually be another dog coming near or somebody walking by. I will tell her to leave it, that reassures her that I am aware of the threat, it’s ok, and she doesn’t have to continue to warm me. My other dog has a long way to go before he learns the same thing. He sees a cat, he’ll bark and bark, I’ll tell him to “hush, it’s okay, I know,” and 30 seconds later he will bark again.
