On the first night we took her out to dinner at a very nice, local, trendy restaurant. One that my wife and I frequented. The offerings were delicious. We ordered, we ate, it was delicious, and a good time was had by all. Throughout the meal the conversation was fine, mostly my wife talking about her aunts, uncles and cousins. We all cleaned our plates and there were no leftovers.
My mother-in-law came to visit us for an extended stay. I cannot now recall if she was supposed to stay for a week or a month. The story is more shocking if I tell you that we were in New Jersey and she drove up from her home in Florida. However, in retrospect, I’m glad that she also visited several other family members in New York before visiting us. We were to be her last stopover before returning home.
